Braveforce 1’s

Nike X Botjoy

I was commissioned by Nike to hand-paint a special series one-of-kind Air Force 1’s to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this iconic shoe and to recognize World Mental Health Day. Braveforce 1’s were designed to “support” you with Brave Bots when things feel uncertain. These were sent to Nike Catalysts (well known leaders in fashion, health, music, and art) and individual Nike leaders. Honestly, this was a ridiculous honor. Nike rarely asks artists to collaborate with them on public projectsand as a bonus, AF-1’s are an amazing canvas to work on.

Brave Force 1’s are addED to the Department of Nike Archives (DNA).

In Winter of 2023 the hand-painted #botjoy project that I did for Nike (Brave Force 1's) to help them recognize World Mental Health Day was accepted into the Dept of Nike Archives and will now be part of the permanent collection of Nike history. Here is DNA Director of Archives and Tech, Mark Locker accepting a pair of Braveforce 1's for the collection!
